Pet grooming
The challenge
The salon needed its website to support the way owners actually chose care for a pet. A person looking for a specific grooming treatment needed different information from someone comparing nearby salons for the first time. The offer had to feel clear before the visitor was ready to make contact: which service suited the animal, what the appointment involved and how the price was determined. We approached the project as a combination of local SEO, useful service content and a shorter route to booking.
Where we started
We began by separating queries about treatments, pet types and location. This showed which questions belonged on a service page and which should be answered through navigation or contact information. We then followed the route from a search entry page to a booking action on a phone. The first priorities were the pages where clearer descriptions, visible conditions and accessible contact options could work together, rather than isolated text changes across the whole website.
Problems we solved
A general salon page missed specific needs
Before
Owners searched by animal, breed and treatment. A broad grooming description gave too little information to someone choosing care for a particular pet.
What we changed
We organised services for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, then developed breed-specific routes and clear descriptions of treatment packages.
Choosing a salon involved trust and convenience
Before
A visitor needed to understand who would handle the pet, what the visit involved and how to reach the salon before committing to an appointment.
What we changed
We brought team information, examples of work, visit stages and FAQs together with the address and route. Booking through YCLIENTS sat alongside phone and messenger options.
What we did
Organised services around pet owners’ needs
We organised the service pages around the requests an owner could describe before visiting the salon. General grooming information remained separate from explanations of individual treatments. Related pages were connected through useful next steps, allowing a visitor to move from a broad question to a more specific service. Location information supported that journey without creating a collection of nearly identical area pages with little useful content.
Explained the appointment before the first call
We expanded service descriptions to cover the practical questions behind an appointment: what the treatment included, which details affected the work and what should be clarified when booking. Pricing information was placed beside the explanation rather than left as a detached list. The wording helped owners describe their situation to the salon and avoided presenting every pet as an identical appointment with the same needs.
Breed pages covered Yorkshire terriers, Spitz, poodles and Maltipoos. Treatment descriptions distinguished bathing, hygienic grooming, clipping, combing and trimming.
Made booking easier on a phone
We reviewed the mobile layout with the service decision in mind. Contact actions became easier to find after a visitor had read the relevant conditions, while essential information remained visible without navigating through several unrelated sections. We checked the consistency of contact details and the behaviour of booking links. This connected the content work with a practical action at the moment the owner was ready to ask a question.
Improved page content alongside technical SEO
We checked headings, metadata, internal links and the accessibility of the service pages prioritised for SEO. Page descriptions were aligned with their actual contents, and navigation labels made the differences between services clearer. Technical corrections were considered alongside the content changes so search entry points led to complete, usable pages. Later reviews focused on the relationship between query groups and their intended destinations.
Key decisions
The challenge was to answer specific grooming searches while making clear that the salon needed to discuss each pet before confirming an appointment. A page could become misleading if it suggested that every animal required the same procedure or that the final cost was independent of its condition. We resolved this through clearer service boundaries and nearby explanations of the details to clarify. The booking route then became a continuation of the page: owners could explain the treatment they wanted and the salon could ask the relevant follow-up questions.
What changed
The project brought local search pages, service explanations and booking actions into one coherent route. The website became a clearer introduction to the salon and helped owners prepare a useful enquiry about their pet. The work connected search visibility with the practical details behind choosing a treatment, giving later improvements a consistent structure to build on.
