Helicopter tours

The challenge

The helicopter travel website offered an experience that was visually striking but required practical explanation before someone could book. Visitors arrived for different reasons: a sightseeing flight, a gift or a request to hire a helicopter. A single broad description could not answer the questions behind all of those searches. We worked on separating the scenarios and connecting them with clear information about the experience, its conditions and the next enquiry step, so the website could support a considered booking as well as attract attention.

Where we started

We began by mapping the reasons people searched for a flight and the questions that appeared before a booking decision. The page structure was compared with those scenarios, revealing where different offers needed separate explanations. We then reviewed the visibility of route information, duration and enquiry actions. This established a focused plan for improving the existing website, with content and technical changes concentrated on the most relevant search destinations.

Problems we solved

Tours, gifts and charter flights needed separate pages

Before

A sightseeing flight, a gift for two and helicopter hire involved different choices. A shared presentation made it harder to recognise the relevant offer.

What we changed

We separated query groups and page content by scenario, connecting programmes, certificates and hire information with the appropriate enquiry route.

Customers needed practical details before booking

Before

Photographs could attract interest, but visitors still needed the programme format, duration and booking arrangements before contacting the operator.

What we changed

We gave these details a clear place on the relevant pages, tied the content to St Petersburg searches and kept booking and contact arrangements close to the enquiry action.

What we did

Separated flights, gifts and hire requests

We organised the landing pages around the reason for booking. A sightseeing visitor needed to understand the experience, while a gift buyer had additional questions about choosing and arranging it for someone else. Hire-related searches required a different explanation again. The structure gave these intentions distinct destinations and connected related options through navigation, helping visitors compare relevant possibilities without encountering the same general description on every page.

The tracked query set covered helicopter flights, flights for two, gift certificates and hire in St Petersburg. Each group was treated as a distinct reason to contact the operator.

Added the flight details customers needed to plan

We expanded the information a visitor needed to discuss a flight: the route concept, duration, meeting arrangements and the details to clarify before confirming a booking. These explanations were placed beside the offer instead of scattered across unrelated sections. Conditions requiring agreement remained explicit, helping the page describe the service accurately while leaving room for the operational decisions that could only be confirmed with the provider.

Used imagery to support the choice

We kept the visual appeal of the experience but gave images a clearer relationship with the surrounding content. Photographs supported the route or service being described, while headings and practical details helped visitors interpret what they were seeing. The page sequence moved from interest to explanation and then to an enquiry action. This preserved the emotional appeal without making the user search elsewhere for the information needed to proceed.

The programme route focused on choosing an experience; the certificate route explained the gift scenario; the hire route led to a discussion of an individual task.

Connected search landing pages with booking enquiries

We brought page titles, headings and internal links into line with the separated booking scenarios. Technical checks focused on the pages prioritised for SEO and the routes between them. Contact actions were reviewed in the context of each offer, including mobile presentation. Recorded search observations helped prioritise further refinements, keeping the work concentrated on the relationship between a query, the relevant page and a clear next step.

Key decisions

The central difficulty was combining a compelling experience with conditions that needed individual confirmation. The website could not make a flight appear as simple as buying an unrestricted, instantly available product. We separated the emotional introduction from the practical booking information and made the enquiry stage clear. Questions about arrangements and circumstances were brought into the relevant page, allowing visitors to understand the offer while preserving the provider's ability to confirm the actual conditions of the proposed flight.

What changed

The website gained clearer routes for distinct booking intentions while retaining the appeal of the experience. Each important page connected the reason for choosing a flight with practical information and an enquiry step. The project showed how a memorable service could be explained in a search-friendly structure without losing the sense of occasion that made people interested in it.
